    OTIF (On Time, In-Full)

What is OTIF (On Time, In-Full)?

On Time, In-Full (OTIF) is a critical supply chain compliance metric for vendors and sellers supplying Amazon. It combines two key components:

    1. On Time (OT):
      • Measures whether the shipment arrived at the fulfillment center by the scheduled appointment time (as booked via ISA or CARP).
      • Amazon tracks the actual check-in timestamp and compares it to the agreed delivery window.
    2. In-Full (IF):
      • Measures whether Amazon received the full quantity ordered per ASIN.
      • A shipment may be flagged as not “in-full” if it contains shortages, overages, or substitutions.

OTIF is calculated as a %:Why OTIF matters:

    • Directly impacts vendor scorecards and replenishment planning
    • Poor OTIF performance can lead to:
      • Chargebacks or fines
      • PO cancellations or volume reduction
      • Lost Buy Box or suppressed listings (in some cases for FBA sellers)
    • Amazon expects vendors to maintain OTIF >95%

    Common issues impacting OTIF:

    • Late carrier arrivals or missed dock appointments (OT failures)
    • Incomplete shipments, backorders, or incorrect packaging (IF failures)
    • Vendor prep non-compliance, barcode issues, or carton mislabeling
💡 Example: A vendor sends 1,000 units of shampoo but delivers it one day late and with only 950 units - both OT and IF are failed, impacting their OTIF score.

    In short:
OTIF (On Time, In-Full) tracks how reliably vendors deliver shipments on schedule and in the correct quantity - a key Amazon metric tied to supply chain performance, vendor health, and chargeback risk.
