What is ISA?

An Inbound Shipment Appointment (ISA) is a required part of Amazon’s receiving process for truckload (TL), less-than-truckload (LTL), and freight deliveries. Before a shipment can be delivered to an Amazon Fulfillment Center, the carrier or vendor must book an ISA to secure a specific dock and time slot.

    ISA applies to:

    • 1P Vendor Central shipments
    • 3P Seller Central shipments (LTL/TL via FBA)
    • Deliveries using Amazon’s Inbound Carrier programs (e.g., Amazon-Partnered Carrier)

    How the ISA process works:

    1. Shipment is created in Vendor or Seller Central
    2. Carrier accesses the Carrier Appointment Request Portal (CARP)
    3. Amazon assigns an available dock and time slot
    4. Shipment is delivered at the scheduled time

    Why ISA matters:

    • Ensures smooth flow of goods into FCs
    • Prevents dock congestion and missed deliveries
    • Shipments without a valid ISA may be refused or delayed
    • Late or no-show appointments may result in performance penalties
💡 Example: A vendor shipping 10 pallets of electronics to Amazon must secure an ISA through CARP before the truck arrives at the warehouse.

    In short:
ISA is the scheduled delivery appointment required for shipments to be received at Amazon Fulfillment Centers - critical for efficient inbound logistics.
