MCF
What is MCF?
Multi-Channel Fulfilment (MCF) is part of the Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) program, allowing sellers to leverage Amazon’s logistics infrastructure to fulfill orders from non-Amazon platforms - such as Shopify, eBay, Etsy, Walmart, or a brand’s own DTC website.
Key features of MCF:
- Orders are picked, packed, and shipped by Amazon
- Uses the same Amazon fulfilment centers and carriers as FBA
- Offers 1-day, 2-day, and standard shipping options (depending on destination)
- Provides order tracking and customer notifications
- Inventory is shared with FBA, so no need to split stock
Benefits of MCF:
- Fast, reliable shipping for off-Amazon orders
- Eliminates the need to run separate warehouses
- Supports omnichannel fulfillment with centralized inventory
- Can improve customer satisfaction with Amazon-level delivery performance
Considerations:
- Branding may show Amazon packaging unless unbranded packaging is requested (for a fee)
- MCF fees are separate from regular FBA fees
- Sellers must handle customer service and returns for non-Amazon orders themselves
💡 Example: A Shopify store receives an order - the seller uses MCF to have Amazon pick, pack, and ship it from existing FBA inventory.
In short:
MCF is Amazon’s service that allows sellers to use FBA warehouses to fulfill orders from other platforms - offering fast, scalable, and reliable shipping beyond the Amazon marketplace.
