AVS
What is AVS?
Amazon Vendor Services (AVS) is a premium, paid program that provides 1P vendors with dedicated Amazon support resources to help optimize their performance on the platform.
Previously called SVS (Strategic Vendor Services), the AVS program assigns vendors an AVS Manager (also called a Brand Specialist or Retail Specialist) who acts as a day-to-day operational point of contact within Amazon.
AVS Managers help with:
- Catalog management (fixing content errors, variations, images)
- Purchase order (PO) troubleshooting
- Operational performance improvements (reducing chargebacks, late shipments)
- Vendor Central navigation and reporting
- Launch support for new products
- Promotion and marketing coordination (e.g. Prime Day, Black Friday)
- Inventory planning & forecasting alignment
- Escalations and internal ticket follow-ups
AVS is usually offered to:
- Mid to large-sized vendors
- Brands participating in Joint Business Planning (JBP)
- Vendors looking to scale with Amazon Retail but needing operational handholding
It’s not a free service - Amazon charges a monthly or annual fee, often based on % of vendor sales or a flat rate.
Benefits of AVS:
- Faster issue resolution
- Dedicated Amazon contact
- Strategic advice and best practices
- More influence in Amazon’s internal systems
In short:
AVS = paid, high-touch support from Amazon for 1P vendors - with a dedicated manager helping you grow, fix issues, and navigate Retail at scale.
