AWS
What is AWS?
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the world’s largest cloud platform, offering a wide range of infrastructure and tools for data storage, computing power, analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), cybersecurity, and more.
While AWS isn’t directly tied to selling on Amazon’s marketplace, it plays a significant role behind the scenes in the Amazon seller ecosystem. Many services and brands connected to Amazon use AWS to power their operations, including:
- SaaS platforms for Amazon sellers (like analytics tools, PPC managers, keyword trackers)
- Private-label brands building internal IT systems
- FBA aggregators running BI (business intelligence) systems
- Automation for listing management, pricing, inventory, and logistics
Key AWS services useful in the Amazon space:
- EC2 - virtual servers (e.g., for price and rank scraping)
- S3 - file storage (e.g., for A+ content images or product photos)
- RDS / DynamoDB - databases for dashboards, analytics, or backend systems
- Lambda - serverless functions for automating workflows or alerts
- CloudWatch / Athena / Redshift - performance monitoring and data analytics
- Textract / Rekognition - AI tools for reading documents or analyzing images
Why this matters for sellers:
- Many Amazon tools you use daily (like Helium 10, Jungle Scout, Sellerboard) are built on AWS
- If you have a technical team, you can build your own solutions on AWS for tasks like:
- Competitor price tracking
- Product photo storage
- Custom dashboards for ACoS, CTR, conversion rate
- API integrations with Seller Central or Vendor Central
In short: AWS is Amazon’s cloud platform powering millions of tools and services - including many solutions used by Amazon sellers.
