BS (Brand Specialist)
What is BS (Brand Specialist)?
Brand Specialists (BS) are part of Amazon’s internal Vendor Management teams. They work directly with 1P vendors (brands that sell their products wholesale to Amazon via Vendor Central), providing strategic and operational support to help those brands succeed on the platform.
Key responsibilities of a Brand Specialist:
- Analyzing sales, traffic, and conversion data to identify growth opportunities
- Improving product listings and A+ content
- Managing retail readiness and supply chain issues (e.g., out-of-stock, chargebacks)
- Driving Amazon advertising adoption (Sponsored Ads, DSP)
- Collaborating on Joint Business Plans (JBPs) and marketing initiatives
- Coordinating with internal teams (Retail, Marketing, Operations)
Access to a Brand Specialist may come through:
- Being part of Amazon’s Strategic Vendor Services (SVS) or AVS program
- Participating in Annual Vendor Negotiation (AVN) discussions
- Having a high-revenue or fast-growing catalog
Why it matters:
- Vendors with a dedicated BS often receive faster support and deeper business insights
- Strategic alignment with Amazon’s goals can lead to better placement and visibility
- Helps reduce operational friction and improve performance KPIs
💡 Example: If you're a 1P vendor selling electronics and see fluctuating sales, your Brand Specialist may help optimize your product titles, fix variations, and set up a seasonal promo plan.
In short: A Brand Specialist is your Amazon partner on the inside - focused on helping 1P brands grow and operate smoothly on Vendor Central.
