    How to read the result

Organic position is the product's place among regular results. "Page 1, Position 4" means the fourth non-ad listing on the first page. This is the number your SEO work moves: title, bullets, backend terms, conversion rate.

Sponsored position is where the ASIN appears in ad placements for the keyword. One honest caveat: sponsored slots are an auction that reruns on every page load, so this number rotates far more than the organic one. Read it as "my ads are winning visible placements right now", not as a fixed rank.

Overall position counts ads and organic together. #6 overall means a shopper scrolls past five products before reaching yours, paid or not. Of the three numbers, this one is closest to what the customer actually experiences. It's a SoldScope figure, not an official Amazon metric: we compute it by modeling the order ads and organic results appear in on the page.

Total results is the same "1-48 of 18,519 results" line Amazon shows shoppers. It sets the scale of the fight: page 1 out of 900 results and page 1 out of 19,000 are two very different achievements.

If the product is missing entirely, the tool says "Not found in organic results". That's information too. It usually means one of three things: the listing isn't indexed for the keyword, it ranks deeper than the pages we scan, or it's too new to have settled into the results. The indexing section below covers what to do about it.

One more thing worth knowing: Amazon results are not identical for everyone. Positions shift during the day and vary with the shopper's delivery location, so your customer in Dallas may see a different page 1 than you do. A single check is a reliable snapshot. A trend takes repeated checks.

    One check, ten extra answers

Under the main result, the tool pulls the top 10 keywords related to the product. For each: monthly search volume, the number of competing products, and the position of this same ASIN, organic and sponsored.

Two things to look for in that table. Keywords where the ASIN already ranks are the terms Amazon has firmly connected to the listing. Reinforce them in the title, bullets and PPC, because defending a position you hold is cheaper than building one from zero. And high-volume keywords with no position at all are demand the product is currently invisible for. Some of those will turn out to be irrelevant to your product; that's normal. The relevant ones are your next targets, in listing content or in a new campaign.

Why your Amazon keyword ranking decides your sales

Amazon is a search engine with a checkout attached. Most purchases start with a query, most shoppers never leave page 1, and position within page 1 matters too, because clicks concentrate heavily at the top. If your main keyword shows the product on page 3, that keyword is bringing you close to nothing.

Rankings also compound. Amazon's algorithm weighs sales performance, so a better Amazon keyword ranking brings more traffic, traffic brings sales, and sales push the ranking further up. The loop runs in reverse just as well. A slow slide off page 1 costs more than it looks, because you lose both the traffic and the sales velocity that was holding the position. Catching that slide early is exactly why sellers track Amazon keyword positions continuously instead of checking once a quarter.

Not ranking, or not indexed? Check that first

There's a step before ranking: indexing. Indexed means Amazon associates the keyword with the listing at all, making the product eligible to appear for that search. Ranked is where it appears. A listing can be indexed for a term and sit on page 12, but it cannot rank anywhere for a term it isn't indexed for.

So when the checker returns "Not found", don't jump straight into optimization. Run the keyword through the Index Checker first; it tells you in seconds whether Amazon has indexed the ASIN for that term. Not indexed? Fix the listing content (title, bullets, backend search terms), give Amazon time to reprocess it, then come back and check the rank. Indexed but ranking poorly? That's a genuine optimization problem, and the playbook below applies. The two tools are a pair: Index Checker answers "can this product appear for the keyword", the rank checker answers "where does it appear".

Rank checker vs. rank tracker: an honest take

A one-off check is the right tool more often than tracker vendors like to admit. Verifying that a relaunched listing got indexed and placed. Confirming your ad actually shows for the keyword you're bidding on. Looking up where a competitor stands before you decide to fight for their keyword. For all of that, this free Amazon rank checker is enough, and you just used it.

Where a single check stops working is measurement over time. Positions move during the day and differ by shopper location, so one snapshot can't tell you whether your title rewrite worked or the ranking just wobbled. Listing changes need days to show their full effect. And nobody manually rechecks 30 keywords across 5 products every morning, which is how slow declines go unnoticed until sales have already dropped. That's the actual job of an Amazon keyword rank tracker: run the same checks on a schedule, keep the history, and turn noisy single measurements into a trend you can read. It's the difference between knowing your rank and knowing your direction.

SoldScope Rank Tracker is built for exactly that: automated Amazon rank tracking of organic and sponsored positions around the clock, history charts from 30 days to all-time, competitor ASINs tracked on the same keywords, Keyword Boost with checks every 2 hours for launches and your most important keywords, geo tracking by US state (a shopper in Texas sees a different page 1 than one in New York), and AI suggestions for keywords worth adding. There's a free plan that tracks up to 5 keywords, no credit card, so you can see it working before you pay for anything.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Amazon keyword ranking

What is an Amazon keyword rank checker?

It shows where a specific ASIN stands in Amazon's search results for a specific keyword: the page, the position, and whether the placement is organic or sponsored. Instead of scrolling through result pages hunting for the listing, you get the exact position in seconds, pulled from a live search.

Is this Amazon rank checker really free?

Yes. No account, no login, no credit card, and it works for any public ASIN on 8 marketplaces, including competitor products. To keep it fast for everyone, there's a generous daily cap on checks per user, enough for real day-to-day work; if you reach it, it resets the next day. Need continuous tracking beyond spot checks? Rank Tracker runs the checks automatically and is free for up to 5 keywords.

Does this work as an Amazon product rank checker?

Yes. Rank on Amazon is always a keyword-and-product pair, so an Amazon product rank checker and a keyword rank checker are the same lookup seen from two sides: you give a product (the ASIN) and a keyword, and get that product's rank for that search. If you want to follow a product's rank across many keywords over time, that's an Amazon product rank tracker job, which is what Rank Tracker does on a schedule.

Is there a free Amazon rank tracker?

This page gives you free on-demand rank checks with no sign-up. For real Amazon keyword rank tracking, meaning scheduled automatic checks with saved history and trend charts, SoldScope Rank Tracker has a free plan that covers up to 5 keywords with no credit card. The difference in one line: the checker is a snapshot you request, the tracker is a camera that never stops recording.

What's the difference between organic and sponsored rank?

Organic rank is the position among regular search results, earned through relevance and sales performance. Sponsored rank is the position in paid ad placements for the same keyword, decided by an ad auction that reruns constantly, which is why sponsored placements rotate much more than organic ones. A healthy listing often holds both: ads buy immediate visibility while the organic position compounds over time. This checker reports each separately, plus an overall position counting both.

Why does the tool say my product was "not found"?

It's a finding, not a tool error, and there are a few distinct causes, each with a different next step. The listing may not be indexed for the keyword, so Amazon doesn't treat it as a candidate at all; verify with the Index Checker and, if needed, work the term into the title, bullets and backend fields. It may be indexed but ranking deeper than the pages the checker scans, which is itself a signal the keyword needs optimization or PPC support. The listing may be brand new or freshly edited and not yet placed by Amazon, so recheck in a day or two. You may be on the wrong marketplace, since rankings are fully independent between amazon.com, amazon.de and the rest. Or the ASIN may be inactive, suppressed, or have no public listing, in which case there's simply nothing in search to rank.

What's the difference between being indexed and being ranked on Amazon?

Indexed means Amazon has associated a keyword with the listing, so the product is eligible to appear in results for it. Ranked means where it actually appears. A listing can be indexed for a term and still sit on page 12, but it can't rank anywhere for a term it isn't indexed for. If this checker can't find your product, verify indexing first with the Index Checker, fix the listing content if needed, and then recheck the rank here.

What is a good Amazon keyword ranking?

Page 1 is where the sales happen, and the top of page 1 is the prize, since clicks drop off fast with every position down. As a working rule: top 10 organic is strong, anywhere on page 1 is competitive, page 2 means one solid optimization push away, and page 3 or deeper means the keyword isn't driving meaningful traffic yet. Judge sponsored positions the same way, but against what you're paying for them.

Which Amazon marketplaces does the rank checker support?

Eight: the US (amazon.com), Canada, Mexico, the UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain. Check the marketplace you actually sell on, because the same ASIN's ranking can differ completely between countries.

Can I check several keywords or several ASINs at once?

The free checker handles one ASIN and one keyword per search to stay fast. Each check does return 10 related keywords with this ASIN's position for each, so you get a wider picture than a single lookup suggests. For bulk work, a whole keyword list across multiple products checked automatically on schedule, that's Rank Tracker, the full Amazon keyword tracker inside the SoldScope platform.

Can I see how my ranking changed over time?

Not in the free checker. It shows a live snapshot of the current moment, with no stored history. Building a rank history means running the same check regularly and saving the results, which is what Rank Tracker does: scheduled data points around the clock, trend charts over 30 days, 90 days, a year or all-time, and Keyword Boost with checks every 2 hours for launches and the keywords you care about most.

How accurate is the ranking data?

Each check performs a live search on the marketplace you selected, so the position reflects Amazon's actual results at that moment. Keep in mind that Amazon results are dynamic: positions shift during the day and vary with personalization and the shopper's delivery location. Treat a single check as a reliable snapshot, and repeated checks, or scheduled tracking, as the trend.

How do I track Amazon keyword rankings daily?

Open Rank Tracker, add the ASIN, paste in your keyword list (the related keywords from this checker are a good starting set), and the system takes it from there: automatic checks of organic and sponsored positions on schedule, daily or every 2 hours with Keyword Boost, with history charts, competitor benchmarking on the same keywords, geo tracking by US state, and AI suggestions for keywords worth adding. The free plan tracks up to 5 keywords, no credit card.

Do you have an API for Amazon rank data?

Yes. The SoldScope API gives you programmatic access to ranking and keyword data, so you can pull positions into your own dashboards, alerts or repricing logic. Contact us for access details and rate limits.

How to use the free Amazon rank checker

    1

    Enter the ASIN

Yours or any competitor's, on any of the 8 supported marketplaces: US, CA, MX, UK, DE, FR, IT, ES.

    2

    Type the keyword

One phrase per check, up to 255 characters, exactly as a shopper would type it.

    3

    Read the position

In 15 to 20 seconds: organic page and position, sponsored placement, overall position with ads counted, total results, plus 10 related keywords with this ASIN's rank for each.

What to do when the ranking disappoints

A bad rank is a diagnosis, and the treatment depends on the cause. With indexing ruled out, put the keyword where the algorithm weighs it most: the title first, then bullets and backend terms. Then work on conversion, because Amazon promotes listings that turn searches into sales: main image, price, reviews. PPC on the keyword can prime the loop, since paid orders add the sales velocity that pulls the organic position up. And measure after every change, otherwise you're optimizing blind.

    Stop checking. Start tracking.

A single check tells you where you stand today. An Amazon keyword ranking tracker tells you whether you're winning. The Amazon Rank Tracker inside SoldScope monitors every keyword that matters: organic and sponsored, across marketplaces and US states, benchmarked against competitors, rechecked on schedule around the clock and charted over time. The free plan covers 5 keywords, no credit card.
