ECDD
What is ECDD?
The Estimated Cargo Delivery Date (ECDD) is a key logistics metric used in supply chain operations on Amazon. It represents the planned arrival date of goods in transit, particularly for:
- FBA inbound shipments
- Vendor shipments
- Direct imports or overseas freight
ECDD helps Amazon and its partners coordinate:
- Warehouse receiving schedules
- Inbound visibility and inventory planning
- Freight tracking and dock appointments
- Demand forecasting and product availability
Where it's used:
- Vendor Central & Seller Central shipment tracking
- Carrier Appointment Request Portal (CARP)
- Amazon Freight and Amazon Global Logistics (AGL) systems
Delays beyond the ECDD can lead to:
- Missed restock windows
- Out-of-stock situations
- Chargebacks or penalties (especially for vendors)
💡 Example: Your factory in Vietnam ships 500 units of backpacks via ocean freight. The ECDD is August 12, meaning Amazon expects delivery to its fulfillment center on that day. Any delays could disrupt your Prime Day inventory plan.
In short:
ECDD = the expected arrival date for a cargo shipment at its destination - critical for inventory planning, freight coordination, and avoiding stockouts on Amazon.
