FFP
What is FFP?
Frustration-Free Packaging (FFP) is part of Amazon’s broader sustainability and customer satisfaction goals. Products certified under FFP arrive in packaging that is:
- Easy to open (no clamshells, plastic ties, or excessive materials)
- Made from 100% recyclable materials
- Designed to ship in its own packaging without the need for an additional Amazon box
- Tested to reduce damage during shipping
FFP benefits include:
- Lower return rates due to better packaging protection
- Higher customer satisfaction
- Reduced environmental impact
- Eligibility for incentives or improved placement within Amazon’s fulfillment network
There are multiple levels of FFP certification (FFP, SIOC, PFP), each with its own requirements.
💡 Example: A brand certifies its electronics packaging as FFP, allowing the product to ship in its original box - no Amazon overbox needed.
In short:
FFP (Frustration-Free Packaging) is Amazon’s eco-friendly packaging program that prioritizes recyclability, ease of opening, and reduced waste - improving both logistics and customer experience.
