What is AMZL?

Amazon Logistics (AMZL) is Amazon’s in-house delivery and transportation service, responsible for last-mile delivery - meaning the final step of getting a package from a fulfillment center to the customer.

Instead of relying only on UPS, FedEx, or national postal services, Amazon built AMZL to take full control of its delivery operations and offer faster, cheaper, and more flexible shipping, including:

    • Same-day delivery
    • Next-day Prime delivery
    • Weekend and evening delivery
    • Delivery to lockers or pickup points
    • Photo-on-delivery confirmation

    Key parts of AMZL:

    • DSPs (Delivery Service Partners): Independent companies contracted by Amazon to deliver packages using Amazon-branded vans
    • Amazon Flex: Gig economy drivers who use their own cars (similar to Uber, but for packages)
    • Amazon-branded facilities: Sort centers and delivery stations across the country

From a seller's point of view:

    • FBA shipments often use AMZL for final delivery
    • If a customer complains “package not delivered” and tracking shows AMZL, the case may require contacting Amazon directly
    • Some FBM sellers may be automatically enrolled in Buy Shipping using AMZL for Prime orders

In tracking details, you’ll often see:

Carrier: AMZL US or AMZL UK → meaning Amazon Logistics handled the shipment.

    In short:

AMZL = Amazon’s own delivery network — faster, branded, and designed to compete with FedEx/UPS.
