MPPP
What is MPPP?
Master Packs Per Pallet (MPPP) is a logistics metric used by Amazon and its vendors to define how inventory is physically configured for palletized shipments. A master pack (or master carton) contains multiple inner packs or individual units, and MPPP tells Amazon how many of these cartons are packed per pallet.
Packaging hierarchy:
- Retail unit → sold to the customer
- Inner pack → multiple retail units
- Master pack → multiple inner packs
- Pallet → multiple master packs
Why MPPP matters:
- Helps Amazon plan receiving dock space, storage, and warehouse efficiency
- Required in PO confirmation, carton content sheets, and shipping labels
- Impacts freight cost, handling time, and damage risk
- Must comply with Amazon’s pallet requirements (e.g., max height, weight, and stacking rules)
💡 Example: If 48 master cartons fit on a single standard pallet, the MPPP is 48. This information is included in the Vendor Central shipment setup.
In short:
MPPP (Master Packs Per Pallet) defines how many master cartons are stacked on one pallet - a critical detail for compliant, efficient shipping to Amazon’s fulfillment centers.
